Someone tried to do the same to my car earlier this year, but they failed and I chased them off.

I think what happened was is he turned off the car because it was so quiet. That or something got disabled because my keyfob was not in the car.

What did the suspect look like? Was he a tall skinny kid?

Donated btw.

It surprises me a bit how easily they get away around here. There really aren't that many roads on this island.

Where Puna car thieves go, they don't need roads.

The police found Marie’s car during a sweep of Nanavale. The car was gutted, stripped of parts, nothing left but the steering column. No need for many roads when the object was to strip and gut as soon as possible and sell off the parts. Makes me sad….

Marie however, has received many generous donations on GoFundMe and has purchased a used Sienna to replace her old car. Needs struts and new front tires, but she’s working toward getting those things fixed and replacing her stolen cleaning supplies (a $400 vacuum, for one) and getting back to work.

She is a warrior queen.
