Street Signs HPP
#1
Recently, new yellow-orange street signs were put up along Makuu road. Most designate street numbers but Wahi Heiau reads HP and Ala Heiau HR (not sure about Beach or other side ofPark). What is significance of letters. Curious

The street signs are "Americanized"

Wahi Heiau= Heiau Place (location of the Heiau )
Ala Heiau= Heiau Road ( road to the Heiau )

OMG. Heiau Place? How would anyone ever figure that out? Is there a “place” anywhere around here? Now I suppose that is the USPS official designation (online) now.

Beach Road's name is officially , Ala Hele o Puna.

It doesn't fit an a sign that HPP can afford.

HP means horsepower to me. HR is human resources. They don't belong on street signs.
