Rainfall pattern in fern acres?

Is there a different pattern to the rainfall in fern acres compared to say pahoa?  Ie does it rain more hours or just more inches an hour?  The difference could be how much sunlight you get.

Higher elevations tend to get more cloud cover, up to a certain point, so my guess would be that Fern Acres is cloudier and has more hours of rain per year than Pahoa.
