Thank you both. Given it's a new phone I only picked up on Friday afternoon and I'd never posted a video to YT before it looks OK. Once I figure out all this stuff I'll probably try and upload a better version soon, but it was a spectacular show. I didn't expect it to be so good.

My grandson (who is 14) got me a "selfie stick" - not for me to take selfies with, but it makes taking video much easier, plus you can move the phone on the stick above everyone's head, and most importantly as my grandson told me - "keep your damn finger off the camera!"

True, but normally when I out to a bar or restaurant for fun, all I take with me is my wallet and a phone (unfortunately, the latter for mostly work reasons).  That means I have little to carry or lose, so taking a selfie stick just isn't something I will likely ever do! If I'm going out with the intention to take photos, then I'll bring a proper camera and tripod. Some here probably remember some of the pictures I took when I used to do that! And it's difficult to put your fingers in the way of a DSLR camera!

Basically, yes you are right, but these days when I go out it's for fun and not to make sure I can take good pictures or videos. Priorities change as you age. Wink

(And please ignore the troll, at least we have a thread to talk nice about fireworks and July 4th.)

I hear you on the priorities as we age!

As my husband calls my purse "Samsonite" I should consider scaling back a few items!  Angel

(As for the troll, he is too busy deleting the bigoted spew he loves to post)

Whats your new phone Tom? As what i believe what you still consider your Photography hobby, im curious as to what you selected. Was it BECAUSE of the camera as priority or other features ? Or you got it for and the
other features and you are now pleasantly surprised as what it came with optically?
Lots of you tubers simply using phone for all these days. i11 and i14pro being a couple favorites.

Agree on simplify and letting things go. Lose they baggage kine. Live longer that way and be more happy.

It's a device that allows me to receive and answer phone calls. I have no idea what your second sentence means.
