Is there any way to get more than one pineapple from a starter pineapple?

Thanks,

Sure, but it takes some time. It usually takes two years to produce the first pineapple. Once itʻs picked, the mother plant is pau but it shoots out keikis, at least one and often more. I also replant the top from the mother plant. Iʻll eventually get rid of the spent mother once the keikis are established.
Certainty will be the death of us.

So, whats the technique?  When I pick the pineapple, my mother plant seems to die.

Not much technique involved. They just need full sun and minimal rain. How long after picking the fruit did they die? Did you start with local pineapples?
