We hope to spend the winter in Fern Forest this year and would love to hear from someone from the area to get a better idea of what it's like there. We would like to know how much a load of cinders or mac nuts costs. How much does a load of concrete cost delivered to the area?

Pepper,
A "load" is an ambiguous volume. Basically, you buy by the ton from the provider. TRUCKING costs about $200 a load from Hilo to Fern forest.... Depends on the product as to the tonnage the truck can carry. Hope that helps a little.

i know a guy with a small dumper whose hauling fee is around $75.00, and you pay whatever the going rate is for the cinder, the current rate for concrete is $105/yard plus their delivery fee(truckload appr 10yds)
