FUND RAISER FOR FRED BLAS
#1
Tomorrow night (Sunday) 5-7pm at the Akebono Theater there will be a huge fundraiser for Fred Blas.
It’s $100 for the dinner, entertainment, (I think Ernie Cruz Sr.) and the Lieutenant Governor Duke Iona will be the speaker.

Wow...

So Fred Blas has the audacity to have someone write a post asking for $100 from us. Where is this man? I don't see any posts from him here. Why isn't he putting himself out there to take questions and hear concerns from the people who can not afford a $100 dinner?

Maybe Kahunascott was just posting on some information that he had?

I doubt Mr. Blas would put ask someone to write a post for him.

$100.00 is kind of costly, however, I've seen and been to fundraisers that were much more.

Sheesh Puna Rep. Herkes had a $100.00 fund raiser recently and it wasn't even on the island.

Now how are his own constituents going to get to that?

It just shows you where some of the powers that be lay here in Hawaii. (Oahu[Wink])

Wow....
I guess Fred is doing something right... people are starting to talk bad about him.

This was a fund raiser, not a talk to the masses event, he had one of those weeks ago at the farmers market.

Fund raiser, meaning these people are already going to vote for him, he just wants there help getting more votes.

These are the people that are on his call/email list. Our invite came personally from Fred, I do not think it was a walk in and pay event at all.

It was a nice event, much more down to earth then the crappy side shows I have seen in Texas.
Most if not all of the Action Team were there and as usual helped out with the clean up after the event.

I introduced myself to the Lieutenant Governor and told him that we were new arrivals to the Hawaii and he asked where we were from, I said Texas, and he laughed and said I guess you are a republican then.....I had to say... sorry... no... but he never missed a beat and we had a nice chat. I might even vote for him after I do some more reading.

The only thing the Lieutenant Governor talked about that was off the subject of Fred was the Constitutional Convention, This is a subject I need some real help with, I watched Texas go through one, and it was a mess, so bad that the people of the state voted to keep the old constitution, it made more sense and kept the power with the people.

My understanding of a Constitutional Convention, anything goes, its not a lets fix this or lets fix that, its wipe out the old and write a new one. I have no confidence in any modern politician in doing this and not messing it up.

Over all the event was fun, there was a full house, which is expected in these events the entertainment was good, though I don't care for country music, the wife thought it was good. Even the food was good, which was not expected at all.

Sorry for the rambling...

Thanks for the report... and I like Duke as a Republican Candidate even though I'm independent.

I actually like Duke somewhat and have spent time talking to him directly.

This Con-Con thing your talking about will be a mess and it's not going to look good nationally.

Glad you had a good time... and please do reveal what was on the menu[Big Grin]

I knew it... [8D]

Just had the feeling that he might do that.

Not to knock Blas... but I think that's funny you guys were eating $100.00 plates and next door they were eating the same thing for under $10.00.

But as we all know... it's not about the food..... it's about supporting the candidate.

I would have thought it would have been something different... but then again.... that's just me. [:o)]

Trust me... I've been to fund raisers where all they served was chili and rice! [^]

I think Fred wants to support Pahoa, so he served food from a business in Pahoa.

That's respectable.

I know Blas has the contacts that he could have pulled off something bigger.

As more and more "Locals" run for office, I do find it funny that they are resorting to catering companies and restaurants instead of the hard work of their supportive constituents.
