The meeting was previously to be held at the Keaau Community Center.

Just returned from the meeting tonight. Interesting stuff being thrown around.

This project is not even considering Alternate Routes at this point. That is part of the PMAR.

Of note something that will be happening soon. The Shoulder lane that is used in the mornings from 6-8 AM are going to be opened up for 24 hour usage.

There are some Quick Fixes that are currently being looked at:

1. Speed Limits
2. Striping
3. Left-Turn Acceleration Pockets
4. Bus Stops
5. Traffic Signal at Kea'au Pahoa Road/Kapoho Road...(signal complaints on timing)
6. Signing/Striping Improvement oat Kahakai Blvd.
7. Traffic Congestion at Keaa'au Bypass Road Junction
8. Pedestrian Cross Walks
9. Flashing Warning Light at Route 130/Old Pahoa Road Intersection.

If you want further details on any of these... I can expand a bit.

Was good to see Rob Tucker in the Audience.

This is actually a different project, although the same road.

The $250,000 that will be spent on this left turn should be starting within the next couple weeks. There were some logistical problems that were being worked out as it was supposed to be started on already.

*edit*

If anyone hasn't noticed, the project at Makuu has officially begun.

Who did the "no parking signs"jungle fronting the big marketplace on 130, makai side? That is ridiculous, and is at best an eyesore. A few properly placed signs including "tow away" would have worked well, and mabe a few xtra bucks for the towyard and govt. coffers.

I agree but it's because all the people who park out there on Sundays.
They need to enforce the law and give out tickets.
Once the new two lane driveway and turn lanes are installed there will will be no excuse to park on 130

Well KS I'm glad your so well informed [Wink]

But I beg to differ.... Just because $650,000 has been allocated, doesn't mean they are using all of it.

You can see page three if you wish. It's under Makuu.

STRIKE TWO
I'm actually the Project Manager for both the Makuu Market and Pahoa Fire Station entrances.
Would you like to take a stab at that one too[?]

I only go off the figures that have been stated to me and that I can find at the moment.

I'm glad there are people here that can clarify.

So how much is this buggah costing?

Are you going to be involved in the H-130 Highway Project Keaau-Pahoa Project that I'm dealing with?

And Mahalo for moving that effing Concrete T-Bone that was across from the Fire Station just waiting to take someones life[Wink]
