Obama - Use it or lose it
#1
This story in the L.A. Times today....

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/...4378.story

....discusses President Elect Obama's intentions for a large national public works program. Road and Bridges....

I mention this here in the PCDP forum because Puna's need for an alternative route (PMAR) into and out of Puna has been shunted aside by HDOT and CoH Trans saying there will be no money available for years and years.

Suddenly it looks like that may change.

I suggest that Punatics think seriously about getting very politically active on Puna's needs. There appears to be a window of opportunity approaching. For Puna that may well mean if we snooze we lose.

Friends of Puna's Future (FoPF) is one way to get active (http://www.fopf.org). We have a meeting approaching on Jan. 3rd regarding the PCDP. It's certainly not necessary to join FoPF to advance issues for Puna but it is one way and it is underway.

By yourself or with others please get informed on Puna issues and get heard and get listened to.

Rob - Not sure if you were at the meeting when they addressed "Frankies" question.

The State says they have applied for money from Obama's infrastructure project, but none of it's earmarked for PUNA of course.
