I need to find a doctor here who is willing to take auto insurance. My own PCP and another doctor I see in Kona have a flat policy of no auto insurance. I guess it is a pain for billing or they don't pay enough.
I was seeing the orthopedist (Smigel), but she just wants to do trigger shot therapy, and this is not right for that (it's upper cervical and soft tissue).
Have any of you had any luck finding someone to treat you for an auto accident? Ironic that we all pay insurance, thinking we have medical coverage, but then when we need it it's hard to use.
My son on the west side is having the same problem. I'm looking for east side, preferably around Hilo. My PCP agrees that I need a PT script, am not looking for pain pills and have no history of taking pain pills for this claim or anything else. I mention this because another reason doctors don't like these claims is they don't want to write scripts for chronic pain.
