HPP Chili Cook-Off $125 Grand Prize Announced

Due to a generous last-minute donor, the grand prize for best overall chili at the HPP Chili Cook-Off has been set at $125 cash. This is separate from the Lucky Number Drawing prizes. Other prizes for winning cooks include restaurant coupons for nice meals out, bottles of good wine, barbecue grills, and gift packages from Rozette's nursery. A total of ten prizes in addition to the grand prize will be given to cooks. In view of the late addition of the cash grand prize, the deadline for entries has been extended to September 15, but will be cut off at 20. The event is from 11 to 2 on September 17. Yes, Cat. I'm a native Texan whose family has been making chili since before the Civil War, and last years' was excellent overall. I will be offering up the very traditional style family recipe chili this time. We are also going to have some other home-made treats such as brownies, cookies, cornbread and chips with salsa. Anybody with the inclination should enter the competition because we keep getting more prize donations every day, and it could be that most of the contestants win something.
