We took that non-stop in July... good price, & service, but...

There is no entertainment (audio or visual) for the flight...so if you, or your little ones need to be entertained during the flight, you must bring it. This did not effect us, but there were some families that were not happy, and some people did buy the premium entertainment upgrade, only to find out there was none.

This probably will change as United takes over the route (the on screen welcome from the United chair was broadcast...) also you land/takeoff in LAX at the old Continental gates, which are under massive remodel... so flight info is not as convenient as it could be, not good if you have a close timed connection...

Many of the continental ito - lax airplanes have electrical outlets under the seats ... from about row 20 forward - flight times have been around 4:35 - 4:45 goes by quick! I bought a $435.00 rt the other day travel 9/19-28

Just fyi took my wife to airport yesterday for the 1 pm flight to SFO. There were movies and music available as a part of the service.
The bad news: she estimates 'around 30 passengers' on the flight. With seat counts like that, the ITO-SFO route is doomed to fail, and soon. Especially with jet fuel prices still way up there.

Any recent reports on load factors on the ITO-LAX route? It would seem like that one is the bigger investment, and it also has the most onward connection possibilities, this increasing its market potential. The single weekly SFO flight seemed like an afterthought or stray trial balloon.

My family has been on the LAX-ITO, ITO-LAX - 5 times since they started! Mom was on that inaugural flight to Hilo on 6/9.

They all love it, but so far all their flights have been pretty full. My brother flies Space available and on 8/21 snd 8/22, the flights were full and he couldn't get on (even with the highest priority) He got on 8/23 but only 8 empty seats so he had to fly in the jump seat and his son took the coach seat.

ETA: the convenience is nice but the pricing was a little higher than KOA-LAX or HNL-LAX (even with the interisland). If the pricing becomes the same, I think it will stay full.

full flight every time I use them - half a dozen or so since they started

My experience with pricing this flight with onward connections to Texas has been that in every case, it has been cheaper than going through HNL. In one instance, it was $200 less than the lowest priced alternative. YMMV, depending on destination.

For comparison purposes, Hawaiian gets me into to Hilo from LAX at 2:40 in the afternoon for $520 RT for the day I wanted to travel (October 30). Continental gets me in at 7:30 in the evening for $505 RT. Prices are after fees and taxes.

For me, having an "extra" 5 hours in the afternoon to do stuff is worth $15.
