Costco prices it's goods just enough above costs to pay operating expenses. Some items it actually sells below cost. Their business strategy is to make their profit selling memberships. There is little motivation for them to build a Costco on this side of the island if we're willing to pay memberships to drive to the other side.

Maybe if they find out Sam's Club is looking to build on this side they would change their mind.

Years ago I ordered a pallet of stuff from Kona Costco.  They delivered to Puna once a week on a flatbed truck.  Anyone know if that’s a service they still provide?  Minimum order? Delivery fee?
