Old Lahaina Town Utterly Destroyed - Recovery & Relief Efforts

There is no room for humor in a tragedy, period.
I don't think it was supposed to be a joke.  The ground IS burning the search dogs' feet.  They can only search for 15 minutes at a time because of it.

At some point, it may be worth considering Lahaina like Hiroshima in 1945. I know that’s brutal, but the closest historical parallel I can think of.

How can humanity be any truer than this?

According to the Star-Advertiser's morning edition, Maui County is suing HECO for not shutting down the electric lines around Lahaina. Nothing like pointing the finger at someone else when you share a significant portion of the blame yourself. Can't say I'm surprised by the deflection by politicians and bureaucrats, however. Here's a link, but it's probably behind the paywall:

"closest historical parallel"?  You failed history class didn't you?  Go crack a book and then come back with your apology.  Clown.

offgridguy,

If you are not able to allow other people the right to their opinions you will not be here all that long. I suggest you apologize.
Assume the best and ask questions.

So, today I open up the Google and my first news feed headline is:

Maui Desperately Needs Visitors – Hawaiian Airlines Offering $82 Flights

The second news feed headline is:

A Hawaiian family with a ten-generation history in West Maui has put up a sign stating 'Tourist Keep Out'

So I wonder where this is headed?

It depends, which tourist are they referring to?
