I know this has been asked before but times are always changing.
I have two bad tires on rims and need them switched out with something better. Mounted and balanced. The rims aren't on the vehicle so don't need anywhere with a lift. I don't have any trip to Costco planned in the near future or I would go there. I won't go to Lex Brodies. I'm open to used tires, or a good deal on something new, or I can get them from Amazon, but mostly I want to know where I can get this service done without it costing a fortune or waiting around all day for it to get done.
Any ideas?

I'll second K&J.
Auto Repair & Tire Shop in Hilo, HI | K & J Tire Center
They may be considered a little pricy on tires - but with tires a cheap tire to me may be an expensive tire to you and vice versa - but they WILL mount your own tire on your own rim and balance etc., for a fair reasonable price, however, they are very strict on the verifying the condition of any tire you bring in as well as its "date code" that does not make it "expired" as well as the condition of the rim can't have any rust on it.
Good luck!

@terracore,
I checked my receipts - and for your information I had 4 brand new tires mounted on 4 brand new (regular black steel) rims, balanced and with air stem valves about 2 years ago at K&J and they charged me $20.00 bucks a wheel plus tax.
Again, just tires mounted on rims - not on the car itself.

Sounds like K and J hasn't changed...

One more note terracore, you stated you would need your old tires taken off the rims and then your other tires put on the rims.
There may be a bit more of a charge to "dismount" the old tires and then "remount" the new tires.
Also, if you want K&J to get rid of your old tires, there will be a per tire charge for that as well.
Ohh....And one more thing! (I sound like Lt. Columbo!) Do your rims have pressure sensors? There may be an additional charge to "remount" those as well.
At any event, it sounds to me like you should go to K&J!

There is a place on the mauka side of 130 across the road from Paradise Dr that has a sign out. Tire mounting. It's just a house.
There is a phone number but I couldn't read it when I drove by.

Yeah, I had a valve stem go bad. I pulled in to that place at the top of Paradise, called the number, no answer, left a voicemail. No reply.
Went to K and J in the middle of the afternoon. They were busy, but they took off the wheel, dismounted the tire, fixed the stem, gave my vehicle back in less than 1/2 hour after I got there. NO CHARGE!
Needless to say, I knew where I was going when I needed tires. A couple of months ago, I bought 4 new wheels and tires. Pretty nice ones too, for about $1200.
