I am doing a renovation on my house and need a licensed electrician to do the wiring. Anyone have a recommendation for a good electrical contractor in the Puna area?
No matter how thin you slice it, its still balony.

I recommend Jerry Gardner with MSW Electric to all my clients. Licensed electrical contractor.
He is the one who does my house personally, and I live with some one who is anal retentive when it comes to do it the easy way or do it the right way.

Make sure that the electrician you hire is going to be on the job, at least to monitor the work.
We have not been as pleased with one of the highly recommended electricians here, because he did not supervise his assistant, and are now stuck with a half opened house, three weeks of no show after a month and a half of the assistant coming whenever... even to the point of showing up one morning & stating he was going to wait to see if it was going to start to rain, and yes, we were billed for that half hour & paid we for it.
This was for work that where most is totally roofed, with the rest under eave work... The electrician does know that we are not satisfied, but has not done anything to address it, other than to email "I did not think I could give it the attention it deserved because I was dealing with several others". This is after agreeing to the work, taking out a permit last fall, and starting the work in March.
I would not have posted this, as I do understand there can be personnel problems in any business, but have heard of another person that had very similar problems with lack of assistant oversite, with this same electrician.
