Yes, sorry to say he was off the Island when I was there, so I never got to see or hear him in person. Too bad his attempt to get medical care didn't seem to work for him, that is young yet (76 years)

We saw him in 2001 while on vacation to Hawaii. He did most of his show in a large high back chair. But, his show was great I'm glad we got see him.

If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it cost when it’s free...now here come the taxes.....

I saw him the first time I came to Hawaii in the mid '80's. He was quiet of an entertainer.

I remember being a kid and watching him on the Mike Douglas show when they did shows from Hawaii...it's like he was Hawaii's Wayne Newton I think.

I've allways thought of him as a Hawaiaan Englebert Humperdink.
In any any case, it's a great loss. Don Ho, R.I.P.

There is no doubt he will be missed. He was Hawaii's best ambassador to the rest of the world. A humorous, gentle man.

he was a good man. I use to hang out with several of his kids, Leilani, and Daunte some years back. He has owned this nice beach house down in Lanikai Beach forever, or I should say his first wife has. I spent most of my time with his kids at that house,.....oh the memories...if those walls could talk!
Don has been tied to Waikiki Beach for over 40 years, and with those forty years has formed a good bond with ALL the Waikiki Beachboys. At anytime any of us beachboys could go eat at his resturant at Aloha Tower for half price! He was always doing stuff for us guys. Man had a good heart!

I just came across a picture of Don Ho in my recently deceased dad's photo albums. My dad was his bodyguard at one time way back... Don Ho's voice always reminded me of my estranged dad. Now that I've seen dads photo albums... It makes sense now.

Aloha 'oe
