I'm one of those people that can't afford solar. I can live with that. I was a bit upset when I heard a statement that power prices would have to be increased for the loss of revenue to Helco. That got me real upset!. Then, I hear that they really drag their feet about allowing new solar installations and never understood why. Finally I read this article from the L.A. Times and it all makes sense about slowing production of solar down and the desire to have an undersea power cable connecting the outer islands with Oahu. It just seems it would have helped Helco a bit if they had put this out to us here on the island as a way to educate. Maybe it was and I missed it..... Good read though!

ETA: Maybe it just takes an outside source of information to believe what is going on here. I just don't trust most island business'
