Aloha! Sitting here at the computer and the house just rumbled around 8:50 pm. . . felt a pretty good little earthquake, not as big as the one on June 5th though. I'm sure others did too. Leilani area. Good night!

There was a small M2.5 near the Leilani area around 8:50pm tonight according to the USGS. Surprised you felt it! According to their data it was very shallow though (right at the surface in other words), so maybe that's why it was felt.

Yes. I just looked at the USGS Hawaii earthquakes website. It must have been right under us to feel such a small one:

I felt it down here in Nanawale as a small jerk. Did silence the coquis for a few seconds though.

Any chance it could be from geothermal? Noticed some strange noises coming from the plant before & after the quake. Also a couple weeks ago we had a smoke alarm go off with no fire in the place for some weird reason. Considering we're less then a mile from the plant I'm wondering if something's up?
