New Organic Pastured Chicken Farm
#1
Aloha,

Punachicks Farm is happy to announce that we will be raising organic pastured broiler chickens for the Big Island community. We are trying to fulfill a need that we saw for more local, healthy alternatives to factory farmed supermarket chicken. Our first batches of whole dressed broilers will be available for pick up at our farm in Keaau on August 24 & August 31. We plan on having them available on a consistent basis (twice a month) after that.

Our chickens are raised in small groups in portable pens that are moved daily to fresh pasture, so that they can enjoy green grass, bugs, fresh air, and sunshine. We believe this is a much better model than that used on confinement "factory farms", including "big organic" brands available in the supermarket. We also grow azolla (high protein water fern) in ponds to feed the chickens. Our chickens are raised and slaughted respectfully, which produces a very high quality product. One taste and you'll be hooked!

Please visit our website www.punachicksfarm.com to use our online order form, or email punachicksfarm@yahoo.com

We are reaching out to everyone to build up our customer base, so please tell your family and friends who you think would appreciate good quality food.

Mahalo!

(Thank you Peter Epperson for mentioning us in a previous post!)

Aloha chicken friends!

I'd like to see your farm. Do you give tours of your farm?

Do you sell your chickens live, hens or chicks, or both?

Best of luck - I'm a vegetarian myself, but I'll post your website on my Facebook to see if any of my carnivore friends can be tempted away from factory farmed birds.

Rainyjim-
Customers are welcome to come check out our farm when they pick up their chicken order every month. We are focusing on broiler meat chickens are raised in large chicken tractors. Our day old chicks are ordered from Asagi Hatchery in Oahu, who are really great people to work with. We process the chickens for you so you can have a fresh dressed chicken, ready for you to turn into several awesome meals.

Mangobingo-
Mahalo for getting the word out!
