The State Dept. of Health Program Manager, Russell Takata, will be conducting free Radiation/Nuclear Awareness classes in Hilo and Kona. The class consists of training protocol fireman and police utilize at the Nevada Test site.
The Hilo class is set for Saturday, July 28th 8AM-1:30PM with radiation monitor equipment training from 1:30-3PM at the Environmental Health Office 1582 Kamehameha Ave.
The class is open to the public and has been scheduled due to citizen concern about possible military related radiation contamination on Hawaii Island from Pohakuloa live-fire training in the center of Hawaii Island.
The Kona offering of the Rad/Nuc Awareness class is scheduled on Saturday, August 11, 2007, 8:00 am 3:00 pm, at the King Kamehameha Hotel.
