Rasberries blueberries etc
#1
Was wondering who has had any success growing things that usually don't grow here for fruit. Like blueberries etc...

Also, where are you located that you've had success !

Those fruit that don't normally grow here can be grown at higher elevations. Waiamea and Volcano are places those berries and other things like apples and plums can grow easier.

We have three blueberries that have produced handfuls of berries weekly for much of the 9 mos we had them (well, 2 plants we have had in the ground for 9 mos & one just since the spring BIAN sale...)

Also have a newly planted dwarf mulberry that is similar to one a neighbor has... and theirs almost always has fruit... got peaches from our peach this year...tasted good, but a critter nipped most of them... so good , but food for the masses! also have 2 vaieties of apples planted just this spring..so cannot tell if they will go..

Add: have a Flame & a white grape in the ground since '08...never flowered...but still alive...so...

Downtone Keaau...so pretty low
