No matter what the Civil Defense announcement said on Sunday when they closed the Pahoa & Mt view hand out areas because "ice was readily available"....FOLKS THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ICE...
We were up in Hawaiian Acres this morning & the folks without power are DESPERATE for ICE...we had other things to hand out (food, batteries & such....but the only thing most people wanted was ICE...and this is not just Hawaiian Acres... Ice is running out at almost every distribution area & there are now folks driving around to multiple sites & stores trying to get ice...
IF YOU HAVE POWER & if you can only make & share a couple of 1 gal zips of ice, it is needed
If you have donations, places like Nanwale will take, now that the RC is at Pahoa, harder to donate (they would not even take TP & cases of batteries & cases of canned foods this AM at Pahoa)
