State paying to test water for property owners?
#51
It would be fine with me if DoH was to inspect all the SMA cesspools conditions at this point in time. Whether homeowners request it or not.
Assume the best and ask questions.

The DOH did inspect all of the cesspools.

"Capacity of individual wastewater disposal systems is based on "occupancy"."

It's based on the number of bedrooms.I just had my cesspool replaced with a septic and I had to have a larger septic because I have 4 bedrooms.

Opinion: because a "vacation rental" generates more waste than a "single-family", upgrade should be required for any property which is used as a rental.
It doesn't generate more waste when the vacation rental sits empty for weeks at a time...

Fine: mandate that the rental schedule does not exceed the waste disposal capacity.

Property owners should not be allowed to "handwave" claims that "it's a single-family residence so exempt from those regulations". Next thing you know, there's a sewage pumping truck baseyard in the neighborhood....
