Yes, curious also why PTWC hasn't picked it up, but a mag 6 earthquake isn't going to produce a Pacific-wide tsunami, so I wouldn't be too concerned about this event.

An 8-9 is where you wait anxiously for the tsunami call from the experts. This could be strong on land and locally.

To put a 6.0 in perspective, the 2009 Samoa quake in the same region was an 8.1, that is I think over one hundred times as strong as the quake today. 100 times stronger is a huge difference in intensity.

The 8.1 quake generated local tsunami devastated Samoa but did not send a tsunami to Hawai'i.

In addition to what Kathy is saying, the 2012 Haida Gwai earthquake was a 7.8, caused little damage and only a very small localized surge of water. The strength of the quake isn't as important as the type of motion for tsunamis.
