New recycling center at Pahoa Skate Park.
#1
I got this message today to share with you all....

I am with Atlas Recycling Centers and I was wondering if you could post that the transfer station and recycling center moved to Kauhale Street by the skate park. Not many people know where it is and they are driving all the way to Keaau and Hilo to recycle.
Assume the best and ask questions.

And for those who aren't aware, in addition to the regular recycling of bottles, cans, mixed items, etc., there is a donation hut/tent where you can leave usable goods for re-purposing. They sell the donated items to the public for a small nominal fee. Household, kitchen, tools, small furniture, clothing, books, toys, some building materials and fixtures, gardening stuff, artwork, small appliances. It's amazing how much stuff stays out of the landfill with these recycling options! (I believe they do not take e-waste, TVs etc.)

There also is the recycling business right across from the post office too.

Friendly, and nice.
And open every day.

No need to go all the way to Keaau.
