Is there any information available regarding the tests?

Kane, don't know yet. Standing by for updates as they come. This should prove interesting. Public Works Department is apparently working on this with a few "experts".

If anyone finds any updates, please share here. Mahalo in advance.

So they are testing aggregates and reinforcement materials. Makes sense to use some form of mesh within the aggregate to help enforce the support integrity. It can be done. Only time will tell if will be necessary to implement.

I'm happy to see they are actually running test and not just considering the method.

Mahalo, Kane for the video, and agreed. They are doing "something", and with additional funds available (Federal, State, hopefully, etc.), perhaps the County/State are looking at all options. I'm certain much more is going on behind the scenes, and they will divulge it as we move forward. In watching the County Council meeting online, this plan was discussed with little further information.

As far as a bridge goes, well...Let's say that was not discussed.

Lifted bridges come with a very expensive price tag. I can't imagine putting one in only to have the flow swell under it and inundate it from the bottom upward.

The odd reality of this proposal, the topic itself, it's actually a floating bridge. Though the fluid under it is not water but rather magma, they are indeed working towards building a floating bridge.
