To get past data, you can click on a station from the map then choose "Click for Online". This will give a 24 hour graph of levels. You can click on the pollutants in the upper left for better detail.
Leila has 2 separate stations need to each other so need to check both to get levels for SO2 (vog) and PM2.5 (smoke). These are raw concentrations so you'll need an AQI to translate these to an air quality advisory level (good, moderate, unhealthy, etc)

Peter - prior to 1981 we may have had the cleanest air in the world, but in the last 5 or 6 years, then this is began happening: [http://curezone.com/ig/i.asp?i=64352], and then of course we have Pele's fondness for smoking on various areas of her island.
Tink , if you were talking about those particle dust masks, they are pretty much worthless. You can deal with mold issues by making colloidal silver, or get and spraying on all surfaces. Just ask and I will explain the process. Also quite useful is an ozone machine (cheap & effective) , with very low energy demand. Also useful is hepa air filtration combined with electrostatic types of air cleaners As far as the rain cleaning the air - that only happens occasionally these days, not as good as it used to be when we were not afflicted with today's realities. Respirators are a good idea , although 3M has had a drop in the efficiency, and if possible search out a better brand.

May I call you OP for short? Was wondering if you might expand on some of your suggestions as me and mold seem to go round and round weekly! I have tried everything from Listerine/water in a spray bottle to Clorox wipes, vinegar, etc. and the darn mold keeps coming back!! Sadly it seems to love the inside of the armoire in spite of a Damprid closet thingy and a container of it!! Have not heard of colloidal anything for mold, what's the scoops? Thank-you []

Hi their are many ozone generators to choose from and you will find many with prices lower than this one.
http://www.alpineairpurifiersdirect.com/...in-cherry/ more at link They are natures way to clean the air ! Ozone is safe when regulated for room size Another one Shock treatment remediation is required to remove mold odor because mold and mildew thrive in damp environments and those areas with poor air circulation. If the area smells musty, there's a good chance that live mold spores are in the air. These spores can reproduce by the millions creating health issues, as well as damaging the building and its contents. more of above at link http://air-purifier-review.toptenreviews...rator.html As far as colloidal silver - research the benefits and you will see that this is a very effective remedy for many, many types of uses- should you decide to try it out - I can tell you how to make it for pennies instead of what health food stores sell a meager ounce or less for. Truthfully I have used both CS & Ozone for many years with beneficial results - but this post should it remain may bring on a firestorm! Hopefully Rob will let this conversation continue for the benefit of all. http://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/07/paul-...al-silver/

Silver ions are used by one of the leading antimicrobial TM in SOME of their formulations...for the antimicrobial properties of the silver ions...
Some silver particle in liquid suspensions (Colloidal Silver) can release some silver ions... but there are many different solutions, and some do not! However, the first thing is to totally inspect something that is growing mold...as mold needs a food source... even oils from our hands can supply mold with its needed food! some people use products that change the pH of the surface, but if the food source remains, and the growing conditions are prime, the mold may return. Air flow, dry, light are also 3 things that mold hates...so anything you can do to increase the ventilation & decrease the humidity of the armoire (or any other moldy place) may help....some (damp rid helps rid some humidity, but here, those containers get filled up fast!) Some have a light bulb on 24/7 that produces a little warmth (not too much & not too little) installed in closed areas that need drying (like storage armoires & stationary cabinets) Oh, & Peter, I have only heard the freshest air statement about east point (beyond the lighthouse)...I am pretty sure that anything inland of east point has enough spores & pollen to cause most any sneezing, sniffling & such! My nose knows when the VOG creeps into our area & when the Mac Nuts are in bloom!

I just wanted to add that 35 percent food grade hydrogen peroxide is also a potent mold & mildew killer, and has many disenfectent qualities & other health & farm uses (use with extreme caution) as it a very powerful oxidizer if you have a farm license you can buy 13.5 gal, (BIE Hilo) , for around $275, plus the bonus of having a 13.5 gal food grade container that you have already paid for water storage, which sure beats the $70 price at Island Naturals for 1gal.
