If pahoated is being paid by PGV then they are clearly wasting our money. They're supposed to employ Best Available Control Technology for noise and emissions Wink

The manufacture of solar panels consumes huge amounts of electricity. Soon, even the environmentalists will start putting together carbon footprint cost of each energy source type and solar panels are going to be very high in carbon footprint cost.

This type of analysis is well established, often called Life Cycle Analysis or Energy Payback Time that includes the all energy required to manufacture and transport an object. For PV panels the payback time can range from about 6 months to a couple years, "depending on the location and the technology, thus returning 15 to 60 times more energy than the energy they use."

Took about 5 minutes to find and read this article - that's all the effort needed pahoated to move towards an informed opinion. Until then, if you really want to convince people to change their minds, just start agreeing with them - they'd have no choice but to reconsider their reasoning and conclusions! (ad hominem - bad company fallacy with a twist of irony Smile

Anyhow back to the fish... Given the strong recommendation to only eat ahi and several other species every other week, plus total prohibition against pregnant women eating any marlin, shark, or swordfish, the levels appear to be harmful enough IMO.

Dr Barbara Brooks is a toxicologist with Hawai'i Dept of Health who focuses on mercury issues. Here is a slide deck from her comparing mercury consumption in Hawai'i to Alaska (spoiler alert - it's 2x higher here, likely due to the differences in fish eaten) http://water.epa.gov/scitech/swguidance/.../day1l.pdf

Why mercury accumulation in fish?
"Ocean fish acquire more mercury at depth."

All that means is that we don't need to use wasabi sauce any more. Have you tried the Fukushima sauce yet? It's a little on the spicy side.
