Drywall Lift
#11
I thought I should post here instead of a new post - even though this is 7 years old.
Looking to buy a Drywall lift from someone who has finished using it and might be willing to sell it or even rent it out.
I'd be willing to offer my drywall stilts as collateral (beyond rental fee). That's only half a joke. My wife said I'm not allowed to use them anymore.
Just like the post 7 years ago, I have been looking at Amazon, Ebay, Craigs List, and separate searches beyond those to contact companies directly.  And I'm still looking even after this post.
If I find anything reasonable, I'll update here for others.
So far it has been almost impossible to get a $200 (more or less) drywall lift shipped here; where the shipping isn't also as much as the lift.

you can do the whole ceiling yourself with the said 2x4 helper and help to get the sheet on it.

I waited to post, because the first 11ft Lift I thought I bought through Ebay was cancelled the next day within 24 hours of my post.
That total was $213 where 30 was shipping with UPS Surepost or something like that. The reason given was a problem with the shipping address. We all know what that means: They don't want to ship to Hawaii, or at least for the price they quoted.
Many through Amazon say that up front, especially for this item. I did however find and order one with Amazon. Their details really looked like they dealt with Hawaii shipping.
11' Drywall Lift  $116  plus  $121.74  shipping  =  (and tax)  $249
Yep, the shipping was more than the item, but after comparing $249 to my failed $213 attempt, I gritted my teeth and did it. I was ready to post on Punaweb because the email said it was on the way.
I had hoped to pass on to those on this board that you can find one for that price.
Guess what. Even with that ~$122 shipping, that one was cancelled 2 days later.
No reason given.
I kept looking. Several more dealers almost seemed possible on paper but most were clearly not into Hawaii shipping.
Finally; Outside of Amazon and Ebay I found  VEVOR.
Two extra good and hopeful things about them.
1.
VEVOR Drywall Rolling 11ft Sheetrock Lift $186.99
VEVOR Drywall Rolling 16ft Sheetrock Lift $223.99
What the heck, I ordered the 16 foot.
2.
According to their shipping chart, Hawaii was a place they really shipped to:
Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii Per item
15 lbs - 40 lbs $30
40 lbs - 70 lbs $50
70 lbs - 135 lbs $100
135    - 2000 lbs $600
Specifications said it weighed 86 pounds.  $223.99 + $100 = $323.99

An email from Vevor Oct 9, 2022 3:21 PM comfirmed I was charged that. This was a Sunday.
Another email said I should expect delivery Oct 15-20th.
I was not trusting this was real because the first order through Ebay went the same way and still got a Cancelled and Refund notice the day after a confirmed order email.

A day later I got a UPS tracking number. Two days later the tracking number was still valid and indicated it was on the way.
Still doubtful but now the tracking said it would arrive by 7pm Oct 14. IT DID! Showed up packed very well, by 5:30pm. YAY!!

This was all through the Vevor website:        https://www.vevor.com
It seems they also use Amazon where all the pricing details were posted the same. I'm still glad I went direct.

Not $200 (more or less) but I am satisfied with the product and the price I paid. Still way better than renting.
I hope this updated reality check helps someone else.

Microage97:
We'll probably still use that good ole long 2x4 with a cross board stuck on the end for some spots. There are few ceilings but lots of wall, walls, walls.

I don't see how it won't be worth it. I hope it works out!
