Does anyone have any experience with medical care on island provided by the Veteran's administration?

I'm plugged into the VA here. In my opinion Hawaii has one of the best VA medical systems in the country. Are you "service connected?". If so, they will treat you here, or fly you to Tripler if you need a specialist. E-mail me "back channel" if you have any specific questions. Aloha

Thanks for the information, knew about Hilo convalescent facility, but not quite ready for that. Not service connected, lowest eligibility status of having served, use for yearly checkup, etc primarily here in northern California and best care ever!

Its actually 95 beds and its a beautiful facility. I went to the grand opening and was very impressed. Oh, and an old friend of mine just happens to be the head of nursing (waves to Kathi) and I know she's good, so I expect the care to be excellent there.
