Puna not targeted in recent illegal gaming raids.
#1
This type of gaming busts seem to happen every 2-4 years, any thoughts to why?

https://www.staradvertiser.com/breaking-...and-raids/

It seems that Many of the same people who got busted for gambling a couple years ago here in hilo, were allowed to run these profitable gambling sites again. Very interesting timing on the raids because Many others were just about to open their own gambling places here in hilo, jmo.
Any thoughts to what might happen to the hundreds of recently seized casino type gambling machines?

P.S. Maybe others here can find and share an article with a bit more information regarding our recent gambling raids, much appreciated.

My apology, I needed to rewrite a more accurate thread title. Mahalo.

Where are you getting Puna from? The article you linked states " ...Hilo, Kona, Waimea and Honokaa" no mention of Puna anywhere.

The last article I read on this had a little bit more detail but at the time no arrests had been made. This article is obviously updated as three (3) have now been arrested.

Hawaii bound, mahalo for the reply.

On how I relate this gambling to Puna? My guess is that many people who drive from these parts to the various gaming places in hilo and kona win or lose daily. My guess is that a few more from these parts were just about to get involved or open their own gaming places, due to the profit margin ofcourse. Maybe the bust happened to scare away the then possible new gaming places that were about to open(asset protection)?
As to the Three arrested, they may have just been sitting at the machines(wrong place at the wrong time)? With that many places being raided only a couple years after the last gaming sweep, some would think more of those involved in the profiting would have been re-arrested,jmo.

From the Star-Advertiser article linked at top: County police were assisted by Homeland Security, Honolulu police and the Hawaii County prosecutor’s office investigators when they executed nine search warrants Tuesday at seven businesses and two homes connected with alleged illegal gambling operations. The locations were in Hilo, Kona, Waimea and Honokaa.

gypsy, your choice of title for the topic is simply false, contradicting the information contained in the news link you provided.

ETA: Changing your original title "Gambling establishments in Puna were raided again." to something like "Gambling establishments on Hawaii island were raided again" would correct the mistake.

This might be a slightly more accurate title:

Gambling establishments in places that are not in Puna were raided again, caused by Geothermal leak and TMT Military Operation.

Because some of you feel the title of my thread should be corrected or changed, I will leave that decision or opinion up to Rob(the moderator). Otherwise their are still many from puna who have many questions including where they go now for their(gambling therapy, or addiction help)?.

P.S. funny stuff Hotpe, deadpool is a must see before you lose all your Ohia trees by the attack of the killer fungus.

Found this article that explains a bit more about these recent gambling raids in hilo, Also explains the prior wrist slaps givin to some of these repeaters in the past, jmo.

"In Puna" means in Puna, not in different districts within driving distance of Puna where Puna residents may or may not have gone. Rob shouldn't have to edit your misinformation.

Somebody told me it was a gamble living in Puna day to day. Oh yeah, that was during the HPP concentration camp morning briefing.
