Happy Easter!
#1
Wishing all a very Happy Easter and safe holiday. As we discussed the meaning of Easter today in our home, one of the mo'opuna "Googled" it, and came up with this:

Easter

The most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and held (in the Western Church) between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.

The Christian belief in Easter is, perhaps, as strong as Christmas in meaning. It's not all about the dyed eggs and baskets (many were/will be shared), which bring delight to the keiki's faces. Nevertheless, the true meaning of Easter is in the beholder's eye, if celebrated. (Those who are not of the Christian faith, may celebrate different holidays, and will pardon the post, please.)

Honestly, can't wait for the candy to go on sale at 50% off! Reese's eggs, solid white chocolate bunnies, and Hershey Kisses! [:p]

Happy Easter all! Enjoy the holiday. Mahalo ke Akua.

JMO.

P.S. Mo'opuna got SPAM and Vienna Sausage in their basket with the eggs...[Wink]

Another viewpoint: the name of the holiday is derived from "Eostre," the goddess of dawn and sometimes spring. Eggs and rabbits were often associated with her festival.

So Hoppy Eostre, everybody!

Happy easter everyone!

Thankfully, The easter day countdown is officially over in this house. Kids have already found their easter baskets this morning filled with rice candy, coloring books, playdoh, ninja turtles, and bubbles. Not going to be cooking any rabbit this year, The tri-tips, hotdogs, eggs, and green papaya salad will be fun though. The easter bunny will try not to (pretty sneaky rabbit) be seen hiding the hundreds of colored eggs in our neck of the woods. Well i got to run and make sure the camera has a good battery or that the kids aren't eating that candy all day. Happy easter everyone.
