We have 2 Samsung Galaxy S5s That I much prefer to the newer ones, from what I have read. They are water resistant to 3' and have removable batteries and use SIM cards, which is important if you travel outside the US. We bought them from Verizon on the Edge plan, so no contract and you get a $25 monthly credit for AutoPay, which pays for the phone.

On her side of the equation she wants a Samsung with a large screen, she will be doing some texting and little surfing or voice calls. On my side I don't really want a long contract, and I want it to work in HPP. I saw Sprint has a no contract deal, but I have no idea if it works. Any and all coments appreciated.
I was in your shoes last year. Apparently I wasn't quite the last one to get a smart phone, but I guess I was close. I picked up a Blu Studio Super Camera cell phone off Amazon and a pay as you go plan since it's mostly for my wife to tell me what to pick up at the grocery store and things like that. I tend to spend about $5/month but I use no data.

What kind of plan from which carrier and what areas does it work?
