From the Honolulu daily article:
"The state Senate Wednesday unanimously confirmed Deputy Prosecutor Darien W.L. Ching Nagata as the newest District Court judge in Hilo."
Does anyone know anything about this guy? I'm hoping that as a deputy prosecutor he might be a bit tougher on criminals that our current batch of judges, but any optimism is tempered by past experience with the system.
