Mitch Roth for Prosecutor
#11

Then he could always hang out his shingle as a lawyer, it isn't like prosecutor is the only job for a lawyer. As a taxpayer I feel under no obligation to provide this guy with a job just because he wants to live on the big island. I have been pretty happy with what Roth has done so far and see no reason to replace him.

He is probably not seriously running for office, but rather advertising that he is the new lawyer in town.
He is not the first to do this. Lots of free publicity.

Agreed, BillyB. If he was a lawyer worth his salt, he would open a private practice, and make more money (again, if he's a good lawyer).

That might explain his disinterested performance at the forum I saw, he seemed completely unprepared for very predictable questions.

Indeed, shockwaverider, indeed. "Unprepared" is kind.

ETA: Proper quotation marks ("Unprepared"); it was a quote. Kala mai. [Big Grin]

Indeed, indeed ! Kagami's newspaper ads are as close to issue oriented (negative?) campaigning we have seen in this election to date. It's not common over the last dozen years to call out your opponent, and Kagami has. His distressed font, sinister in its deterioration, itemizing all the "fails" he wants to hang on Mitch Roth. It's not a feel good, build brand recognition campaign at all.
It actually suggests more of alienation, anger, and payback.
But weak in its content. When he calls out the Gambsky case because it was plead down to Manslaughter he loses all credibility. The guys doing 20 hard, no parole. That was a cold case that Mitch was instrumental in, and Kagami had plenty of chances to take a shot at it. He didn't. Gimme a break....
