Aluminum Foil Butyl Rubber on Ebay $24
#1
This is that repair tape for roofing and many other things. I needed a roll myself and found this on Ebay.

The price is very reasonable. About $24 with free shipping. I don't think HI is excluded.

Home Depot would do in an emergency, but Amazons product is twice the thickness in the "sticky stuff" the foil cover protects, giving more flexibility on the repair surface in my experience.

As does every other hardware store. And, of course, there is a myriad of products that come in all different sizes and thicknesses etc., and for more or less money.

This isn't just used for repairs, but is a standard part of most roof installations, especially the metal roofing we have here where it is used to cover every seam. For those unfamiliar with it the trick to using it to its greatest advantage is once you apply it to go over it with a hair dryer or similar heating element and then rub it down with a smooth metal object. The head of a smooth hammer works pretty good. By this method you can get it to create a waterproof seal. Another thing to note is you do not see this tape. As in it is not intended for direct exposure to the elements. But is best when installed under the final trim or flashing.

I've been looking for something like this.
Now I can make a hat that will make those annoying voices stop.
