Please join us for Sierra Club's annual meeting and potluck Saturday,
December 10, 4 - 7 PM at Wailoa Park, first pavilion as you enter.

Our guest speaker is Christian Giardina, a Staff Scientist at the Institute for Pacific Island Forestry. He has been working on integrating western science and traditional cultural knowledge to inform conservation practice in Hawaii. This work includes the formation of Halau Ohia, a training program for natural resource managers in Hawaiian culture and management practice. He is also using this approach to work on opportunities for community based cooperative management to build sustainability and resilience to climate change.

Yeah, let's all go out and support the people who are joining in with the lunatic fringe of Hawaiians to oppose the Thirty Meter Telescope. No, thank you. This formerly reputable organization lost my respect when they crossed the line into Luddite, anti-science politics.
