Tire repair at Lex Brodies ?
#21
"and they were cheaper than Costco"

Every tire has a DOT code on it, and the first two digits indicate where the tire was made. The only tires Lex Brodies sell that fit my car are Y9 which means they were made in Indonesia at the P.T. GADJAH TUNGGUAL factory. Tires made in the USA, Canada, and Europe tend to have the best performance specs (you get what you pay for). All that being said, the Indonesian tires at Lex Brodies still cost more than Costco.

Disclaimer: I don't know where every tire sold at Costco comes from, nor Lex Brodies for that matter, just the tires they were offering to sell me.

I also was told by LB that they couldn't repair the slow leak. Although I had been putting air in it twice a week for months, they decided to put the spare on. This necessitated getting a new tire (at Costco) immediately. I would have just kept doing what I was doing at least until the next time I planned to go to Kona. In the end the tire was warrantied so it was half price....

best bet, wait till tires got about 10K miles left, and get the Costco Coupon 100 bucks off for a set of 4, call for appointment (if anyone will answer the phone) other wise, next trip make an appointment in person. They will call you when the tires come in and set up install date.

Way cheaper than anywhere else on the island. I've never had a flat tire, maybe replace the tire a bit more early, but better than getting ripped at any tire place on the east side.
