Is Pohoiki open today?

We are planning on going to the new black sand beach today...just wondering if it is open or is it closed for the winds?

Not on the list of parks closed. Im sure u should be careful of the surf allways tho.
Have fun,let us know how 8t was. Im thinking of burning a scuba tank soon and ck out the lava flow did to the reef.

I popped over to Carlsmith a few days ago, it was beautiful, and there was a large honu hangin' out nearby, but the water was far too cold. I tried to dive in, once, twice...brrrr...it usually gets swimmable after the second dive in, the initial cold shock goes away...not this time. So, I had to leave. Was a beautiful day, though, and I got a picture of a rainbow on the way back, so it wasn't a waste.

There are people out there swimming every day from sunrise until after dark.
Too cold for me !!

The actual water temp is 75+ deg f . So the air temp is what makes u cold,especially when u get out

Friends had their truck broken into at Carlsmith recently. Stole wallets, phones, etc. How's Pohoiki been in that respect?
