Trying to cancel some upcoming flights and there is no way to get through. Was on hold for over three hours with no one answering. Then I saw on the news, Hawaiian is trying to get people on voluntary layoffs.
What I don’t understand is if they are not going to answer the phone, why not have an outgoing message that says so?

They did via email. You’re supposed to call them.

From Hawaiian's website :
How do I rebook my ticket? You will need to rebook your ticket by calling our Reservations department. As we are experiencing high call volumes, we encourage you to rebook your ticket at a later time. Our current COVID-19 waivers allow for rebooking until Dec. 31, 2020. The fare value of your ticket will be retained.

Unfortunately, we can’t rebook. No vacation time available.
