Just for fun, what gets you dancing?

Long after the disco craze died down, the late Donna Summer had a successful series of tours in Germany. Frau Chunkster and I went to one of her shows on a lark, and she performed "Last Dance" to close the show. The normally reserved Germans were dancing in the aisles and any other spot they could find. We joined in, and ever since that night we dance to it on our anniversary or just about any time we want to cut loose. She starts out slow and then lets it rip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHdUlFKl8fc

If they wore lederhosen & dirndls, it would REALLY be worth the price of admission.

Yes, it would have been, but we were in Hanover, about 600 km from dirndl and lederhosen land.

Yes, it was a golden era, at least for young people at that time! The album "Soul Mining" was one of my favorites but only "Uncertain Smile" made me want to dance, basically because I was a rubbish dancer. There were so many good bands around then that some here might not know too much about, e.g., The Psychedelic Furs, The Stranglers,  The Police, The Cure, Madness, and of course lots of others, it's an endless list. One of my favorite groups was Half Man Half Biscuit but I think you need to be British to understand half of the songs they made., e.g., "Time Flies By" and "Trumpton Riots" which were based on real TV shows for five-year-olds and the classic "All I Want For Christmas Is A Dukla Prague Away Kit" and the brilliant "Dickie Davies Eyes".

For years, I thought the words were, "kitchen water running, head out to the highway" I thought he was deliberately flooding his house before running away.
Certainty will be the death of us.
