What a great surprise for the folks at the Farmers Market today. John sat in with dad Ernie and did a short set of his own today. Chickenskin!

Yeah - Thanks to Jaynie for giving us a heads-up...when we got there Ernie was still playing...but SHE knew that John Cruz would be there - and she wasn't moving until she saw him. LOL!!! Jayne is John's number one stalk...I mean - number one FAN. (yeah - that's it.)[][]

You guys missed the big show. His father Ernie Cruz Sr. and his son Tony play at Shakas (Pahoa Bar) every Sunday night. He's known as the Waimea Cowboy and sings mostly county western (the old stuff) and local Hawaiian music.
You guessed it John played for about 4 hours and ROCKED DA' HOUSE.We've seen John numerous times (see Carries post about my wife)and you couldn't have paid for a better show and it was free.[8)]
We even went to Maui to see him at the free Whale Foundation Concert in the park. That free concet cost me $1000.
John is an Island boy who has had his share of problems but he's "Back on his feet again".
Ernie is our neighbor right here in Hawaiian Beachs.
