OK, Paul was a good entertainer, race car driver and contributed to charities. RIP Paul.

I just don't see him as leaving a larger imprint on society than local neighborhood volunteers, youth coaches, teachers, nurses or other giving people.

"what we have here, is a failure of perspective"

then you don't know the man other than his acting career, and driving career. Paul Newman , over his life donated to charities on a regular basis. I don't know of a bigger donator to charities for kids. Greg, Newman was all about the kids, and how can you not appreciate that? Plus, he had this extra place in his heart for handicapped & terminal. He just loved sitting all day and talking with the kids. He donated over a quarter of a billion dollars over his life! With today's star's mostly "white knuckling" their money. I'd say that's nothing to sneeze at! All proceeds from his Salad Dressings, Pasta Sauce, etc.,etc.. went towards his many 'Hole in the WAll Summer Camps" all over the world.

Normally I could care less about entertainers. But Paul Newman is special bloke

I appreciate that. I appreciate Paul Newman. He has chosen to share his wealth with tens (probably hundreds)of thousands of less fortunate. I appreciate Bill and Melinda Gates for their contributions of hundreds of millions of dollars through their foundation.

I'm merely sugesting that a person with little, that gives it ALL, is a "special bloke" also.
