So, are we goi to do this Chili Cook Off? Or even just have a "Puna Chili Festival"? If we can set a date I may be able to get some press in Edible Hawaiian Islands (I write for them). It is a quarterly and we are putting winter issue together now). Maybe it could be held on site at the Puna Farmer's Market, which would be a boost for them as well? I am not going to be on the island permanently till January, but I would be glad to help plan online and to do whatever it would take to help get this going as long as there are others that also want to be part of the planning and support process. Chili is usually a superbowl staple, so that might also be another aspect???

I am heading to the mainland for a few weeks, so can't participate in planning, but will be home by Nov 17th.. so hopefully we can have the actual event after Thanksgiving.... so I can participate.... Just a request...

hit the floor each morning, the devil says
"Oh Crap, She's up!"
I’m starting to make some arraignments as we speak. Yes we can use all of the help anyone wants to but in. I’ll keep everyone posted as to the progress.
WOW is exactly right. I just received the bottle of Mega Death from Jon and it’s great, plenty of fire with a wonderful “after taste” that hangs on for some time. This stuff is not for the timid or those who are faint of heart. Made a cheese crisp and spread some “Death: on the tortilla with my finger to lightly coat it. Then spread some homemade salsa and a few fresh mild peppers over the top and finished it off with plenty of cheese. Made the mistake of drinking a “few” beers before hand and had to use the restroom. As usual, one dose their business, gives “it” a shake, and then washes ones hands. WRONG, only a rank amateur would forget to wash with soap and hot water before touching “it.” Talk about fire, WOW is the only word for it.
Think that I may start a small hot pepper and sauce business, could be lots of fun. Need a good name for the hot sauce, any ideas?

John S. Rabi,
Sory for spelling your name wrong, I should proof read my post first. Dick Wilson sent John some Mega Death and John sent me a bottle, and it's great guy's.

Stuff has a bite, huh? best when added as a enhancer to other sauces or for the true chilihead, spred thinly on a sandwich. Luv it.

Tom, I hope you are planning this for after the holidays... as we won't be living there till January and I would really love to be involved or even to be there to taste and celebrate!
