Not real familiar with all of the different climates etc. on the Big Island, but how does ceramic tile hold up?

Nothing better and it's easy to clean too. However, it's not very gentle on the joints! [Smile]

yes, very hard on glass bongs. Do not drop on tile floors.

Tile holds up well; I mean it can crack, of course. The earth does move here.
It's easy to clean.
It makes your legs, feet, back really tired compared to softer flooring.
Tile on slab is worse than tile on an upper floor, in my experience. On slab there is no give whatsoever.

Even so, carpet gets awful in this climate. Musty, dusty, smelly, especially on slab because the moisture can wick up through the slab, unlike with the plywood on joist floors you can find in post and pier homes.

Wood floors are my favorite. [Smile]
