Salvage Yards on the BI..

I always enjoy looking through a wrecking yards for car parts. Are there any around the Hilo area? I am currently looking for some mercedes and toyota truck parts.

Aloha Jared,
Ken's Towing has used parts and there is another yard further down the street. Forget the name. Start at the front door of Wally's World (Walmart) go makai (towards the ocean) out the "back" entrance to their parking lot. Take the first right. Ken's Towing is along there and you can go to the end of the road to Railroad (?) avenue and within a half mile (I forget which direction) from the intersection of Ken's Towing Road (whatever the name is) and Railroad is another salvage yard. It is on the Puna side of the street. Other than salvage yards, call the tow truck guys. Most of them have some salvage parts.

Keaau has a great one.... Head west off the 130 at Greenhouse Supply. Go past the school and it is on the right as the dirt crossroad. They seem to have a zillion cars.... have fun!
