Hawaii and Bali to become sister states

Just wondering what this means? We have no flights from Hawaii to Bali or Indonesia or anywhere in Southeast Asia. How will Bali being a "sister state" of Hawaii have any benefit to Hawaiians or Indonesians?

It sounds like it was modeled after the sister-cities, which was to build awareness of other areas... often school children will have special study segments on the sister-city (state?) and there are usually tour groups that are sister-city related...

I do not think it allows any official travel benefits -other than more people in the sister-state may be aware about Hawai`i...and hopefully more people here will be aware of more about our "sister-state"...
