EMS (Emergency Medical Services)?
#1
Aloha,

Can any of the locals, in the Puna area, tell me anything about the EMS services there? I'm assuming that the rural areas are volunteer. There's a service called AMR (American Medical Response) that i have seen on other islands, do they have a presence there as well? I'm a Realtor by trade licensed in TX & CA as well I'm a licensed home inspector in the state of TX. But I'm also a EMT-B(NR) and I volunteer in a rural service here in Central TX. I would volunteer there as well but if it was possible to pick up paid shifts that would be cool to. Appreciate any input.
Mahalo,

I've seen the AMR vehicle in/around Hilo,, but I don't know their coverage area. As Seeb stated, EMS is also part of the Fire Dept - paid positions. I don't know about volunteer EMS.

Plenty volunteer firefighters who also received EMT training. I know HI Acres, and HPP have volunteers. HA VFD also has their own truck.
