Oh, Blake already covered that..never mind!

I lived in Salt Lake for 3 years in the 70's. Like living on an island. Go out of town and you were in a different state, world, solar system!!! Always felt like an alcoholic when I went to dinner or a bar. Had to carry your booze in a bag and tip out of it. That was a long 3 years!

Drove through Saint George one winter – great mineral & fossil hunting / buying in that, read majestic view, part of the world. A farmer had left an elevated rain bird sprinkler on for some reason. There was a mound of ice the size of a barn.
Scratched that one from my list, won’t be retiring there -grin
While on the subject of Utah. Anyone been to house rock? I bet they didn’t survey those folks!
I’ll take the aloha state for happiness any day

Decidedly NOT Puna related (unless you count counting your blessings for where you live) but it is related to this topic - particularly those with some experience with Utah... you really need to see this http://blakesotherblog.blogspot.com/2009...s-and.html

Have to bite on this one. Having just moved from #1 to #2, Let me say this about that. Sandy Utah is a suburb of Salt Lake City; and even the local newspaper the Salt lake Trib call Prozac "Sandy Candy" in print. There are more domestic engineers hooked on downers there than any other metropolitan area in the country. DEA statistics. Of course they're happy, they're looped to the eyebrows. Hawaii on the other hand is hooked on natural beauty not pharmocology, with some notable exceptions.

so far i would rank Hawaii number one way about all others, we all know why.

alaska second, tons of wildlife, beauty, oppotunity is everywhere. hawaiians must agree. trust me i coach high school football and all the anchorage teams and in juneau are full of kids from hawaii, wish we could get a few at north pole!

third would be where one finds happiness. all of the states in america offer something special.

Concerning Utah, I'm still weighing the pros and cons of polygamy, and while the above drug postings are decidedly pointing to con, my confusion deals with internet porn and how it fits into the equation.

After servicing wife one, two, and three, you have to watch some kinky porn so you can get it up to do missionary with wife four and five.

Was in Utah last year on business and have to say you need to be an attorney to try and figure out the drinking laws. In Salt Lake City it's almost normal but outside you need to belong to a drinking club and they won't serve you at the bar but must bring it to the table. Apparently the laws are about to change. At least they have their potatoes!
